Pencilboard.Net Site Usage Policy
Mission Statement
As a member of the pencilboard collecting community, Pencilboard.Net is devoted to excellence. Our goal is to provide the most comprehensive, user-friendly, automated, and full-featured pencilboard reference online without the pitfalls of complex operation, difficult navigation, browser incompatibility, and faulty programming. We are committed to providing the highest quality site both in aesthetics and performance, and we believe we have found a happy medium between simplicity and functionality. We also are committed to providing an area where people of ages 13 and up can feel comfortable.
Content Guidelines
All content publicly viewable on our site is approved by our administrators with a goal of achieving a content level suitable for children ages 13 and up. We strictly adhere to the content guidelines established by the Motion Picture Association of America for the rating of "PG-13". Users who register an account with Pencilboard.Net to access advanced features such as contributing to the reference archive will be able to see content before it is approved by an administrator while logged in. Content that has been submitted but not yet reviewed by an administrator may not be in accordance with our content guidelines. When logging in, be aware of the possibility of encountering content you may find offensive. If you do not wish to risk the possibility of encountering inappropriate material, you may still browse the archive without being logged in, which will allow you to only view content approved by an administrator; however, no guarantees are made about the appropriateness of the content contained in Pencilboard.Net. Browsing the archive is completely at your own risk!
Contribution Guidelines
Contributors are encouraged to be as concise as possible when sending contributions to the site. Please fill in as much information about the entry as possible in the appropriate fields. Images should be in the correct format as outlined in the Contribution section. Images that do not meet the specifications are subject to being rejected by an administrator and may require re-contribution. Please send in content that is appropriate according to our content guidelines and mission statement. Contributors that consistently violate the guidelines are subject to having their account suspended without warning.
Accounts
Pencilboard.Net maintains user login accounts to accomplish several tasks:
- Credit for contributors: All contributions sent in by users who opt to be listed rather than anonymous will have their screen name (login) associated with a particular entry in the reference archive. If you do not wish to be listed, please select the anonymous contribution option when signing up or in the account profile page. Please note that if you change your status from anonymous to listed or vice versa, the contributions you submitted prior to the change will not be affected. In other words, if you chose to be listed and contribute some entries, and then later choose to be anonymous, the entries you sent prior to your choosing to be anonymous will still be associated with your screen name. Please review our site Privacy Policy if you are not sure what sort of information will be associated with a screen name and what information is publicly accessible.
- Repeat contributions: Account logins will allow users to enter fewer fields that would normally contain the same information (such as screen name and email address) for each contribution. Not having to enter repeated data makes the contribution process easier and less repetitive.
- Contribution management: The administrators will be able to more effectively control the approval process of contributions, as well as enforce contribution guidelines.
